Open House 2008

August 16th-23rd

Each year DramaTech puts on an Open House to invite people to become involved in the theater. Open House is an opportunity for us to show you all the amazing things DramaTech members can do and where we encourage you to participate. There will be performances by current DramaTech members and freshmen as well as games, workshops, tours, free food, and much more so please come join us.

Open House Week Schedule

Saturday August 16, 1:00pm:
Field Day Games including an egg drop and water balloon toss along with a refreshing Ice Cream Social.

Sunday August 17, 6:30pm:
Meet and Greet with current members of the theater. Come enjoy an introduction to the theater, food will be provided.

Monday August 18, 6:00pm:
Poker Tournament, DramaTech will be hosting a series of poker games. The winners will receive free passes to any DramaTech 2008-2009 Season Show.

Tuesday August 19, 6:00pm:
Board Game Night hosted by the Friends of DramaTech, the DramaTech alumni group. They will be providing a little history lesson about DramaTech's traditions and past. Auditions for the first set of Experiments and Murder Mystery Dinner Theater will take place this evening.

Wednesday August 20, 6:00pm:
Our first club meeting of the semester. We will be nominated a Member at Large to hold a position on the Executive Council (this is an excellent way for incoming freshmen to get involved). Auditions for second set of Experiments and Murder Mystery Dinner Theater will be held as well as technical theater workshops. If you are interested in helping build set pieces, hang lights, and pick out costumes and props that will be used during the Open House Shows this is the perfect way to come see what the technical theater side of DramaTech is like.

Thursday August 21, 6:00pm:
More technical theater workshops, we will be work on set, lights, props, costumes, and sound for the Open House Shows.

Friday August 22, 7:00pm:
Come enjoy a good cookout, tours of the theater, information booths show all the amazing things DramaTech can do. The Open House Show begins at 8:00pm and will be filled with a variety of entertainment including the Experiments, staring incoming freshmen.

Saturday August 23, 7:00pm:
More grilling, more tours, more examples of amazing things that DramaTech do to go along with a completely different Open House Show. Please come join the fun.

What are Experiments?

Experiments are short skits performed during the Open House Shows. In a 72 hour time frame, the shows are cast, directed, and performed. Experiments are directed by current DramaTech members and star incoming freshmen. Freshman have the opportunity to see hands on how DramaTech works by involved in every step of the production from acting to crew.
